As we are nearing the end of the 2018 “wedding season” and heading into “engagement season”, we wanted to share next years wedding trends as newly engaged couples will be on the hunt for their dream wedding details. Some of the 2018 trends seem to stay on the rise into next year, and let me say….I’m not mad about it!
Linda Diproperzio, author of the “15 Wedding Trends That Are In For 2019” on Shefinds.com, lists a ton of new and fun wedding trends that I personally have not seen yet, but super excited about! Starting with the foreshadowing of shades of purples and deep colors…um YES PLEASE!
Carrie Mabery, the Conference and Catering Manager at Loews Minneapolis Hotel says, “I am seeing a lot of purples from violet to periwinkle. This trend is prevalent in lighting options throughout the space with designs and in floral.” This is exciting to me just for what the color purple represents; how do we feel about this? I feel that so many colors get repeated, (which is fine they’re all beautiful), but purple is a personal favorite around here!
The list moves on to a trend I never saw coming called Video Mapping. The owner of Fantasy Sound Event Services, Kevin Dennis, explains that this will be more accessible to couples in 2019. The use of projectors covering the whole room in the couple’s choice of colors, lighting and design to match the wedding’s theme; very different, and a fun way to add a unique effect to your celebration. How cool is that?
Shefinds.com speaks on drones, bringing nature in by adding greenery, unplugged ceremonies and statement place cards which we have also seen during the 2018 wedding season.
But, trends like hanging florals, delilahs, mix & match groomsmen attire, small plates and the return of the tiara, are all what 2019 has to bring to the magical world of weddings next year.
Do you have a favorite yet? A personal favorite from the list of upcoming trends is the movement towards the use of hanging florals and centerpiece and of course the interest in delilahs.
I love the texture and uniqueness of a delilah bouquet! Also, as a wedding coordinator the thought of hanging centerpieces is exciting! Not only will that free up space on the guests tables, (possibly for more gorgeous decor), but it adds a fun, new element to the space!
Be sure you check out 15 Wedding Trends That Are In For 2019 for the rest of the trends heading our way! And of course congratulations to the newly engaged and just married!
